Art et marges musée

The Art et Marges Museum in Brussels showcases the work of unconventional artists—think outsider art, art brut, or creations from societies’ margins. It’s a space where art emerges from unexpected contexts and challenges conventional norms. Every three months, the museum unveils a new exhibition exploring and redefining the boundaries of art itself.
From 14 February to 11 October 2020, the museum hosted “Coeur au ventre”, an exhibition of objects collected by Marion et Ludovic Oster. Over the years, the couple have amassed an impressive collection amidst which they live in their Lyon home, like a sprawling cabinet of curiosities.

The exhibition’s scenography mirrored the layout of their home, replicating its floorplan and arrangement of works to preserve their original context. We designed and produced the accompanying publication: a perfect-bound booklet featuring detailed photographs by Annabel Sougné of individual artworks and curiosities. The book offers a second journey through the collection, following the display sequences created by the Osters. Tucked inside are two smaller booklets, presenting conversations between the collectors and the museum’s curator, Tatiana Veress, in both French and Dutch.
