In the wake of the Covid pandemic, as summer 2021 drew to a close, Théâtre de Namur launched an open-air festival to reignite joy, togetherness, and shared experiences after such challenging times. Featuring slam poetry, plays, dance performances, and concerts, the festival unfolded across various public spaces and institutions, bringing generations together with a program designed for both kids and adults. The event’s name Doux mois d’août is an alliterative play on words, meaning “mild month of August”, referencing the balmy weather and general softness of being.
Embracing this spirit of renewal, we crafted a vibrant visual identity that spanned brochures, posters, banners, printed press, TV, and a dynamic social media ad campaign. Inspired by themes of rebirth, resilience, and wonder, and guided by Director Virginie Demilier’s vision, we incorporated flowers as the central decorative motif. Bold, cut-out floral shapes, reminiscent of Warhol and Matisse, lent the campaign an eye-catching and optimistic energy, perfectly embodying the festival’s celebration of positivity and fresh starts.
